Finding the best jean for your body type

One of the most beautiful things about women is that there are no two the same! Everyone has a different body type, which means clothes can fit each of us differently. When it comes to a staple in everyone’s wardrobe, jeans, it’s important to find a good fit for your body type. When you feel comfortable in jeans, you look your best!

Curvy Body

If you have a curvy body type, you probably want to find a pair of jeans that has a slight curve at the bottom opposed to a skinny jean. If your jeans curve just a bit at the bottom it will help to keep your body in proportion with your waist. If you go for the skinny jean look, you may end up looking a little bit heavier because more attention is drawn to your waist than anywhere else on your body. Also, for extra comfort, look for a pair of jeans that sits a little bit higher on your waist.

When looking for colors, a darker wash will look amazing on you! Sometimes jeans that are ultra-faded in the middle can add weight rather than make you look skinnier.

Pear Shaped

If you have a pear body shape, opt for a higher waisted jean. This will do wonders for your waist and make your legs look a mile long! You can rock a skinny jean or a flare. If you get a pair of jeans that is too low, it will hit you in the wrong spot on your waist and actually add weight to your body.

Boy-Shaped

Finding the perfect fit of jeans will help to create curves on your body. Although super-skinny jeans will make your legs look amazing, you may want to go for a pair that doesn’t fit so tight to create some curves. Also, tucking your top into your jeans will help to create a clear line for your waist, try adding a thin belt for a fresh look on your outfit!

Petite

Petites come in all shapes and sizes too! There are very curvy and boy-shaped petites. If you have a petite frame, become fast friends with your tailor. Many different jean styles will look good on you, but if they aren’t the right length, they can actually make you look heavier and shorter. Make sure you are getting jeans hemmed for length, and you may need to get them taken in around the waist too. A darker jean always helps to elongate a frame so you may want to stay away from lighter washes of jeans.
